Design was the difference
at Nebraska Wesleyan.
It’s all about the students. As The Roy G. Story Student Center was being remodeled to better serve students and faculty, Nebraska Wesleyan University renewed the Validis contract to create a completely new retail space stocked with a large supply of used textbooks and offering appealing merchandise such as apparel, school supplies and more trade items.
Validis’ College Store Design Team studied the new space allocated for the bookstore, met with the Administration to understand goals and expectations and asked students about their values and beliefs. The research, along with tried-and-true retail approaches, helped create an imaginative, inviting store where visual impact and easier shopping keeps students shopping longer.
During redesign, our regional merchandise manager, supported by a corporate team, ordered new merchandise that met the University community’s expectations for the new space that was created. When it was completed it offered things such as t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, shorts, pens, backpacks and more.
Today, students embrace the improved store, the bookstore manager maintains solid relationships with faculty and sales are up.
