
Facing significant growth with the addition of a new undergraduate program and deciding to offer courses through distance education meant service at the Regent University college bookstore needed to be taken to the next level.
So, in 2001, the school’s Administration selected Founders, a division of Validis, as a new partner to develop an industry-leading, professional bookstore featuring expert operations that enabled students to place orders online. Starting with the store’s infrastructure, the team implemented an improved inventory management system and enhanced processes for order placement and merchandising.
The next step involved launching www.regentbookstore.net, which offered students textbooks online and connected to the bookstore’s back room operating system, meaning inventory could be managed real-time. Students were also offered the choice of picking up their online textbook orders in-store or having them delivered. Currently, online courses account for about 40% of the courses at Regent University.
Today, the store offers students fully-integrated solutions for acquiring traditional textbooks, general books, collegiate and general merchandise.
